Where does the usage data come from?
Usage statistics are sourced from Pikalytics, based on Pokémon Showdown ranked battles — not the in-game ladder. Win rates and archetype data come from Champions Lab tournament results. Actual in-game usage may differ.
How often is the data updated?
Usage data is updated periodically as the meta evolves. Curated data like archetypes, trends, and tournament teams is updated manually when significant meta shifts occur or after major tournaments.
What do the offensive and defensive type scores mean?
Offensive type scores show how well each type hits the most-used Pokémon super-effectively, weighted by their usage rate. Defensive type scores show how well each type resists the most common STAB types in the meta. Higher scores mean more meta-relevant coverage or resistance.
Why do some Mega Evolutions only have community builds?
Some Megas haven't appeared in tournaments yet or are rarely used competitively. For these, we construct a sample team from the most common teammates based on ranked play data. These are marked with an asterisk (*) and a disclaimer. As more tournament data becomes available, they'll be replaced with real teams.
How are common cores calculated?
Common cores are Pokémon pairs that frequently appear on the same team. The co-usage percentage is calculated from teammate data weighted by each Pokémon's individual usage rate. Higher co-usage means these two Pokémon synergize well and are often picked together.
